The Art of China Painting
The paints that we use are mineral based in a powered form. We then mix these paints with a facilitator usually oil based. The oils we use are of a very high quality. The paint is then applied with a brush to a piece that has been glazed.
When this piece is put into a kiln and fired at high temperatures, the glaze softens, the oil is burned away and the minerals remain. The glaze is then cooled and the glaze seals the color in. This process gives a permanent design on a glazed surface that cannot be washed off.
